Created in 2001, the Peaks View Pacers has been offering cross country opportunities to the homeschool athlete in the Central Virginia area. With both middle and high school teams, the Pacers compete against public and private schools throughout the cross country season.
The team's goal, to represent Christ as well as run their best, has been a driving factor throughout the years. It is our desire to "run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus....." to be our example and guide. (Heb. 12:1-2a)
The meet schedule starts in August or September and has one or two meets per week, concluding in the middle of October. There will be some optional road races for extra competition, including The Virginia Four-Miler.
Training can be done individually and/or with group-training runs. This sport is very conducive to busy homeschool schedules. We have group fun runs twice a week throughout the summer beginning in June. These are for anyone interested in running. Everyone is welcome!
